1. About This Policy

This policy explains how Spain Pilot (spainpilot.com), an AI-powered relocation and housing research product currently in private beta, handles personal information. It covers this website, the beta waitlist, and the Spain Pilot product for invited beta users.

Spain Pilot is operated by Spain Pilot S.L. (in formation), a company currently being registered in Spain. In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Spain Pilot S.L.

3. Information We Collect

Beta waitlist

When you join the waitlist, we store:

  • your email address;
  • the date and time you signed up;
  • the address of the page you signed up from, if your browser sends it.

Information you provide in the product

If you are invited to use the beta product, we process:

  • the email address you use to create an account and sign in;
  • information you choose to share, such as your relocation preferences, budget, household and work situation, and the messages you send to the assistant.

Please do not share information the product does not need, such as identity document numbers, health details, or financial account details.

Technical information

  • your IP address and the time of your request when you submit the waitlist form, used to limit repeated submissions;
  • standard request logs created by our hosting infrastructure, which can include IP address, browser type, and the pages requested.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • Waitlist: to confirm your signup and contact you about beta access and Spain Pilot updates. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Product: to provide the features you request, such as comparing locations and answering your questions. We process this information to provide the service you asked for.
  • Security: to protect the service against abuse, such as automated or repeated signups. We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for advertising.

5. AI Processing

When you use the product, the information you provide is processed by Claude, an AI model provided by Anthropic through the Anthropic API, to generate responses and comparisons. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete and should be checked before you rely on it.

6. Service Providers

We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to run Spain Pilot. AWS processes data on our behalf for:

  • website hosting and content delivery;
  • storing waitlist and product data;
  • sending emails (Amazon SES);
  • account sign-in for the beta product (Amazon Cognito).

We use Anthropic to provide AI model processing (Claude, via the Anthropic API) for the beta product. Information you provide in the product is sent to Anthropic to generate responses.

Website hosting, data storage, sign-in, and outgoing email run in the AWS US East (N. Virginia) region, and Anthropic is based in the United States, so your information is stored and processed in the United States. Emails sent to hello@spainpilot.com are received through Amazon SES in the EU (Ireland) region.

Transfers to the United States rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses included in our providers' data processing terms.

7. Data Retention

  • Waitlist data is kept until you ask us to remove it, or until we no longer need it to run the beta.
  • Product data is kept no longer than needed to provide the beta, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
  • Rate-limiting records (IP address and request time) are set to expire automatically a few minutes after your request.
  • Waitlist service logs are deleted automatically after three months. Email addresses in these logs are partially masked.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. The waitlist database is encrypted at rest using AWS-managed encryption. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Cookies and Analytics

This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. The beta product stores sign-in and preference data in your browser's local storage so you can stay signed in. Sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito, which may use cookies that are strictly necessary for authentication. The beta product does not use analytics or advertising trackers.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, including in the EU under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time.

You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Spain, this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).

11. Deleting Your Data

To unsubscribe, delete your data, or exercise any other right, email hello@spainpilot.com from the address you signed up with, or tell us which address the request is about. We may ask you to confirm the request before acting on it, and we will reply once it is done.

12. Age Requirement

Spain Pilot is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Spain Pilot develops. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
